About RepStep
RepStep is built by Levi Hansen, a lifter who logged every lift in spreadsheets until an app was easier.
Why I built it
Hi, I'm Levi. Every workout used to start the same way: opening Google Sheets on my phone, scrolling to find the right spreadsheet, then switching to my calculator to figure out what goes on the bar. I've logged every lift since June 2025. So I turned those spreadsheets into an app that does the math for me and shows the reason for every lift. I train with my buddy Keith, and he was the first other person to use it. RepStep stays small on purpose: log your top set, get the next workout planned. Your log exports as CSV any time, so you're never stuck with it.
27 weeks, logged
These two photos are 27 weeks apart. I logged every top set in between, using the same rules RepStep runs today. Before RepStep was an app, it was spreadsheets and a calculator. OHP: 95 lb x 10 to 150 lb x 5. Barbell row: 155 lb x 10 to 205 lb x 8. Incline bench: 145 lb x 10 to 195 lb x 7. The rules: Add a rep each session. At the top of the range, add weight and start back at the bottom. Every fourth week, go lighter.
