Questions
How is the goal date predicted?
The calculator follows the same rule the RepStep planner uses: add 1 rep each session until you reach the top of your rep range, then use your estimated 1RM to pick a heavier weight for the bottom of the range, rounded down to the plate jump. It counts the sessions until your goal set is reached and turns them into a date.
What if I miss sessions?
The date assumes you train the lift on the schedule you enter, so missed sessions push it back one for one. In the app the date is recalculated every time you log a workout, so it always reflects what you actually did.
Can I set a goal for more than 1 rep?
Yes. The goal is a weight and a rep count, so you can aim for 225 × 5 as easily as a single at 225. A rep goal at a given weight is usually a bigger step than the same weight for one rep, so its date comes later.
How long does it take to bench 225?
It depends on where you start and how often you train. A lifter benching 185 for 5 is estimated at about 216 lb for a single, so the first 225 is within reach in a matter of months, while a 225 × 5 takes longer. Enter your own recent set to get your date.
